U.S. Postal Service (USPS) Mail

Outgoing mail can be dropped off in a USPS mailbox or in one of the outgoing mail slots on the 3rd and 4th floors of Lerner Hall.

There is a stamp vending machine (owned and operated by a third party) inside the Package Center. However, the Package Center cannot process outgoing USPS mail or packages. The closest USPS branch to Morningside Campus is located on 112th St between Broadway and Amsterdam.

Intercampus Mail

Student Mail Services distributes intercampus mail throughout the following Columbia locations:

Morningside Campus, Barnard College, Harlem Hospital, Columbia University Medical Center, Lamont-Doherty, Teachers College, Studebaker, Prentis Hall, Reality House, Nash and the Interchurch Center.

Intercampus mail may be placed in the appropriate mail slot on the 3rd or 4th floors of Lerner Hall.

Mail Codes
When sending intercampus mail, always include the receiving department's Mail Code (if applicable).

Mail Codes are four digit numbers assigned to departments and offices within Columbia University. To find a department's Mail Code, search the Columbia University Directory or contact the Departmental Administrator.

Sending Packages

Packages may be sent through the Columbia University Package Center, located on the 4th floor of Lerner Hall across from Ferris Booth Commons. Discounts are available for FedEx and UPS services.
